Durham and more Wake Forest

Today John and I took a ride to Durham, NC to visit my stepsister Carolyn! We started our day with delicious sandwiches at an amazing lunch place called Parker and Otis and then browsed several cute stores that were in the area. After lunch, we went to the gardens at Duke, which were gorgeous! The day here was beautiful, 65 degrees and not a cloud in the sky - it doesn't get much better than that! We also walked around Duke's campus, which was one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. The Duke Chapel was so stunning, inside and out. After touring the campus for a bit, we went to the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University. There were some really awesome and interesting exhibits, and Carolyn had never been to the museum either so it was all of our first times. Not only were all of the day's activities a blast, it was so great to be able to spend some time with Carolyn and see her digs! She also made us a mixed CD that we listened to on the way back to Wake Forest; it's a collection of classic Cali tunes! Perfect for the road trip!

After we got back from Duke and visiting Carolyn, we went to an amazing restaurant called 6th and Vine for some wine and appetizers, and then made our way to a restaurant called Sweet Potato, where the food was TO DIE FOR! Oh my goodness, it was so incredibly delicious. I got southern fried chicken with the most fabulously fluffy sweet potatoes, John and Matt got a dish called Smothered Yard Bird, and Meredith got a deliciously spicy southern salad! (And we got a little more wine, since Sweet Potato had a 50% off wine sale!!)

We plan on spending the rest of the night hanging out and just enjoying each others' company!
