Yesterday was day two of Ultra. This morning John and I are feeling a bit
tired and sore, but we’re ready for day three to begin this afternoon! Yesterday was absolute insanity – probably
one of the best days of my life.
We started off the day by seeing Chuckie, who really blew us
away - his set was awesome! He had Slash
as an appearance during his set which was mind blowing – Slash had this amazing
guitar solo and the crowd was going nuts!
After Chuckie, we saw a bit of Laidback Luke’s set, and as always,
Laidback Luke was awesome. I always
expect a good show from him and he always delivers! We weren’t able to watch Laidback Luke’s
whole set, because we took a break to get some water before seeing Benny
Benassi.
Benny Benassi played an amazing set, and the best part about
it was that we met a really awesome group of people that were all dancing and
having a great time with us. It’s
amazing how many people come from different countries and different
backgrounds, all to attend Ultra. In
just the people that we met, there were some from Nigeria, Mexico, France,
Belgium, England, Puerto Rico, and the good old USA. Standing in line for water, John and I met
the girl who sang the national anthem for the Miami Heat game on Friday! One of my absolute favorite things that I
like about Ultra is how friendly everyone is and the diversity of everyone
around me!
After Benny Benassi, John and I watched Fatboy Slim’s set,
which followed suit and was nothing short of great. John and I took a little break after this,
and then tried to meet up with the people we had met during Benny Benassi, but
unfortunately the crowd had gotten too thick and we couldn’t find them! John and I were really bummed because they
were lots of fun to chill with and it’s always nice to come across people that
dance as crazy as we do (haha)!
After our failed attempt at finding our new friends, John
and I headed over to Flux Pavilion. We
didn’t stay at their set too long because even though they were playing nasty
dubstep, John and I couldn’t really get into the swinging dubsteppy dance and
wanted to go back to dancing to the electronic music. We decided to check out the Bayfront Stage
and were so pleased with what we found!!
It seemed like the group at the Bayfront Stage were the Ultra veterans,
people that really enjoyed electronic music without having the massive crowds
around! It was amazing! John and I were like ten feet away from the
stage while watching Tiga (who we were both impressed with), and George
Fitzgerald (who absolutely blew us away)!
I think George Fitzgerald was one of my favorite electronic music
festival experiences I’ve had so far! We
were like twenty feet away from the stage and had so much room to dance! John and I also felt like he caught our eye several
times and we could have sworn that he smiled right at us more than once. I felt like I was connecting with him as he
played the music. It was unreal! We hadn’t even been planning on staying at
the Bayfront stage for too long, but were captured by George Fitzgerald’s set
and stayed until he finished.
Then we headed over to Deadmau5, who played another good
set. Although it seemed like a lot of
people were leaving during it, (I don’t think they knew what to expect from
him), John and I were expecting the type of music he played in his set, and we
finished off our night enjoying it.
My favorite experience of day 2 was George Fitzgerald. My favorite sets were Benny Benassi, Chuckie,
and George Fitzgerald. An amazing second
day at Ultra!
How close we were to George Fitzgerald! |
We were so close to George Fitzgerald, my new fave!
Crazy Crowds!
Deadmau5 and I finally got a video of the main stage flames!
Slash tearing it up!
Crazy Ultra-goers in trees!
