I know it has
been a week since I've written, but I've been trying to get situated in my new
job. I love my job so far! Like I said before, I am the Manager of
Company Culture, and have so many responsibilities already - I haven't been
bored even for a minute since I started. It is a really awesome position
- seemingly designed to fit the qualifications of my dream job! For
example, some of my responsibilities include planning all birthdays, planning
the monthly team-building event (like bowling, go-karts, etc.), decorating the
new office, researching ways to improve the workplace, and reinforce the
company culture so that every employee enjoys coming to work on a day-to-day
basis. It's awesome!
John's been waiting
to hear on a few possibilities, and he had a second interview last week that we
are still waiting to hear back from. We're keeping our fingers crossed,
as it would be great if he was able to find a job so quickly, too! We are
settling in nicely, and truly enjoying San Diego! Remember, now that we
are permanently staying here, it's time to start planning your visits!
This past weekend, John and I had a really great time
exploring Mission Beach, and a little bit of La Jolla Beach. The day was a bit chilly, so we decided not
to do a beach day, but hiked around Mission Point, venturing all the way to the
bay. We really enjoyed walking past all
of the houses along the beach, and were entertained by some partiers in their
front yards.
One of the really cool things to do on Mission Point is go
to the Wave House, where you can ride on a simulated huge wave. Although we didn’t do it ourselves, it was
really awesome to watch some of the people trying it out and John is hoping to
do it in the future! It seems really neat;
I took a couple of videos so you could see how cool it is!
After walking around all morning, John and I decided to
check out a really awesome deli on Mission Blvd called The Rubicon Deli. I had a deluxe Grilled Cheese, which was to
die for – several kinds of cheeses including smoked Gouda, avocado, tomato, a
spicy dressing! It was delicious! John made his own sandwich, a scrumptious
combination of ham, vegetables, bacon, pickles, etc. He got a full sandwich (while I got a half),
and his was humongous! He still
surprises me with how much he can eat sometimes!
After our lunch, we walked around Mission Beach area a bit
more and then took a drive to La Jolla.
It was a really great day, and it is still so surreal to be living in
such a beautiful area! We love it out
here! Sunday was a bit boring, we got
some chores done, ran some errands, and I finally went shopping! I didn’t buy too much, but did purchase some
cute new things for work!
Keep your fingers crossed for John, hopefully I’ll have some
good news to report soon!
